About Mao Mao Wu
Mao Mao Wu originally from China, currently practicing art in San Diego, California, and studying art at Grossmont College with majoring in Studio Art, Painting & Drawing, and Video Production. She is pursuing to become a full-time artist focusing on Painting. She is a curious on-going learner in creatives. She loves outdoor life with hiking and camping, road trips, learning about new cultures, taste good food, and visiting galleries, museum, and farmer markets.
Mao Mao’s portrait paintings are about using vibrant colors, flowing lines and organic forms and shapes to express emotions, recall memories, express her appreciation for her cultures which is 5000 years of history, for people and for God. The process of creating artworks bringing her a lot of healing and restoration from emotional traumas and hurts, so she wants to use her paintings to encouraging viewers and bringing viewers healing and restoration.
Paintings is also a visual communication for Mao Mao Wu. With the experiences of constantly traveling and constantly re-location since she was child, she always worries about that she didn’t make her thoughts very clear with her words. So, painting become her way to express and showing her thoughts. She desires that people can see and understand her thoughts through her painting.
